How to Add Favicon to Blogger (blogspot)

By default a blogspot blog contains Blogger logo as its Favicon. Using your own favicon helps you to build a brand for your blog. This post explains how to add a favicon to your blogspot blogs.

How to Add Favicon to Blogger:

1. First you need to design a favicon using image editors or online from the web(preferably 16×16 size).
   (list of such websites are given at the end of this post).
   
2. Go to Blogger Dashboard – select Layout – click Edit HTML
   
3. Then Search(Ctrl+F) for the code given below in the header section
   
   
   <b:include data=‘blog’ name=‘all-head-content’/>
4. Add the code given below right after the above line:
   
   
   <link href=‘YOUR FAVICON IMAGE URL’ rel=‘icon’ type=‘image/vnd.microsoft.icon’/>
5. Finally Save your template. You should see the favicon in your blog now. If not, clear your web browser cache and load your blog again!

Remove or Hide Navigation Bar of Blogger Blog

Please Note: Before Editing your Template, Save a copy of your current template by clicking ‘Download    Full Template’ in ‘Edit HTML’ page of the Blogger ‘Layout’ Window and ‘Preview’ the changes before Saving.                                                                                                                                                                          

Navigation Bar appears at the top of Every Blogger Blogs. It helps the Visitors to Search any Blog in Blogger Directory or to Flag any Objectionable Content in the Blog. Some Bloggers really don’t like this Navigation Bar as it causes some ‘discomfort’ to their nice template! It’s very easy to remove or hide the navigation bar of blogger(blogspot) blogs.

Just do the following steps:

1. Go to Edit HTML page in the Blogger Layout Window.
2. Find the following Code: 
                                              #navbar-iframe {
                                               height: 30px;
                                               }
3. To Remove the Navigation Bar, Replace the above code as:
                                             #navbar-iframe {
                                              height: 0px;
                                              } 
   >> To Hide the Navigation Bar, Replace the code as:
   

                                             #navbar-iframe {
                                             visibility: hidden;
                                              }

   4.Then Save the Template.

Number of blog users are increasing day by day in India. Impact of various social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Orkut is increasing day by day but according to the  President of Internet Service Provider in India currently only 7% population of India is using internet.

What Google Suggests You About Blogging

Google auto suggestion is no doubt one of the important feature to find out relevant result. It helps me a lot in find some great software alternative and other results. This morning just for curiosity, I tried to know what Google is suggesting about blogging and the results where not so exciting. Here is a screenshot of what Google suggest to me. I strongly disagree with few results.

Create CON folder in Windows

How to create CON folder in windows-

Not only CON, we cannot create any of these-

CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, LPT9 and more..

The reason is that con, prn, lpt1.. lpt9, etc are underlying devices from the time dos was written. So if u r allowed to create such folders, there will be an ambiguity in where to write data when the data is supposed to go to the specified devices. In other words, if i want to print something, internally what windows does is -- it will write the data to the folder prn (virtually u can call it a folder, i mean prn, con, etc are virtual folders in device level). So if we are able to create con folder, windows will get confused where to write the data, to virtual con folder or real one.

So Now, Try this...

Open the Command prompt by
Start -> Run and typing cmd

Code:-
C:\> md \\.\c:\con

Now, Open My Computer and browse through the path where you created CON folder... Surprising.. ?? Yeah.. you have created it successfully

Now, try to delete the folder from My computer
OOPS!!! You cant delete it...

Now, try this in command prompt console

Code:-
C:\> rd \\.\c:\con 

 Its Over......

How to redirect a blogger blog to another blog or website

To redirect a your blogspot to another Blog or Website, just add a Meta Tag in the Header section of the blog as shown below:

• Search for: <b:include data='blog' name='all-head-content'/>
  
  
  
• Add this Meta Tag just after the above code:
  
  <meta content="0;url=http://YOUR NEW URL HERE" http-equiv="refresh"/>


  
• Then Save the Template. That’s all!
